Call me crazy, but this does not look like the Planet of the Apes we grew up with. Even the 2001 failed film had more heart to the orignal. From the trailer we gather that the plot could be quite simple. It's Apes running wild through San Francisco. The only positive factor I see. Is that the visual team will be using the same technology we've seen in Avatar. Which just means really good CGI Apes instead of the old style make-up ones. I would just change the title to "The Attack of Kongs Kids." See does that sound better?
